Just as R.S.V.P. is a must visit for paperlovers, Frau Tulpe is the place for fabric lovers in Berlin (and Hamburg). They have the most amazing assortment of fabrics – especially sweet pattern prints for kids and a huge selection of japanese Kokka fabrics. And then there’s this "heaven" of ribbons and tape dangling down from the ceiling. Quiet dangerous. Though I think I was so irritated by too much choice, that in the end I bought a lot less than I expected…

Last week I finally made it to the Balloni store here in Cologne for the first time. As the name suggests they carry tons of balloons and other party decorations. But as I discovered they also have a huge selection of beautiful wrapping papers, walls covered with ribbons in every color and design you can imagine, as well as tables filled with wonderful paper goods.
I bought a sheet of this beautiful red Hiawatha paper that you can see in the second photo (btw a new addition to the good life series from NineteenSeventyThree, which I blogged about previously) and am thinking about using it to make a large photoalbum. The wooden toy crocodile also caught my eye. It’s handmade by a local designer and I’ll have to try and find out the name again.

How amazing is this airmail tape? Besides my airmail postcards I’ve honestly been planning to have tape like this made for quite a while and already did some research, but it’s so expensive. So I was very very happy to find this wonderful airmail tape in PrettyTape’s etsy shop.
And doesn’t it look perfect with these wonderful brown kraftpaper bags that Marigold gave me? Thanks again dear! I really think I’m in need of some penpals…

There was a bookbinding market here in Cologne a few weeks back. I still didn’t get a chance to go through all the photos I took, but I thought I’d just post a couple of pictures of the beautiful papers I got.
How do you like these wonderful wrapping sheets by Kamal, that my collegue discovered today?

So after lots of thinking back and forth I finally decided to move my etsy shop from http://kasaa.etsy.com to a new home next sunday Nov 9th: http://paperama.etsy.com.

If you’re looking for some nice handmade paper goods – for yourself or maybe as a christmas present for someone special – you can help me get my shop empty so there’s less to move for me :-) I’m offering a 10% discount on everything in my old shop.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon the term and concept of Muji at the MoMA Online Store.
“The name “MUJI” is derived from the Japanese phrase “Mujirushi Ryohin,” meaning “No Brand Goods.” Over the last 20 years, they have developed a worldwide following with a guiding philosophy that emphasizes innovative and simple materials, processes, and packaging. The resulting products are streamlined, environmentally friendly, and beautiful in their simplicity.”

These beautiful desk and stationery products inspired me to make a “muji style memo pocket” – similar to the airmail memo pocket – using envelopes from brown recycling paper and leaving the cardboard uncovered.

So here’s the third and (for now) last post about the beautiful things I recently found in my mail. This gorgeous Blackbird fabric pin by Etsy seller inmybackyard flew all the way from New Zealand. It’s my favorite and I found a sunny spot for it on my jacket.
