A couple of weeks ago I ordered Lena Corwin’s wonderful book “Printing by Hand”.
First of all as a booklover and crafter I have to say that I love this type of binding where the book has a hardcover with spine and a “hidden” ringbinding inside: It looks beautiful and is practical as it stays open.
After the detailed “Getting ready to print” guide Lena Corwin explains the techniques of Stamping, Stenciling and Screen Printing each in a separate chapter with lots of tipps and inspiring examples.
She also covers all the materials and tools needed for printing.
The instructions are visualized with great step by step photos.
And the patterns and designs shown in the book are included in an envelope in the back of the book.
Can’t wait to get started!
Oh yes, this is a lovely book indeed; the whole production must have been fun. I reviewed it last winter on my blog (you can find that and some more under the "books" tag).
I am going to buy this. I loved printmaking in college but alas I don't have a press. This is just what I am looking for. Thanks :)

habs mir auch bestellt und möchte endlich die zeit finden es mal von vorn bis hinten durchzugehen. auch wenn ich alle techniken schon mal gemacht hab, bin ich dennoch gespannt was es da noch für andere herangehensweisen gibt. siebdruck zuhause wäre z.b. gemütlicher als dafür immer in die uni fahren zu müssen… :)
Oh ja, von vorne bis hinten durchgehen und eine Technik nach der anderen ausprobieren hört sich wirklich fantastisch an. Wenn ich so durchblätter weiß ich eh nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Zum Thema Siebdruck hatte ich mir auch mal dieses tolle Tutorial hier gebookmarked – allerdings selbst noch nicht getestet:

siebdruck ist fein… leider fehlt mir die zeit dazu. und eigene siebe für mitnachhause nehmen
Ja ja, die liebe Zeit :) Aber eines Tages… da werd ich das Cheap&Dirty Tutorial mal ausprobieren. Da steht übrigens auch drin, wie man sich die Siebe / Rahmen aus alten Bilderrahmen & Vorhängen zusammenbastelt – ok, das dauert dann noch länger, aber macht sicher Spaß….
